A collection of 12 individual studies of dogs, faithfully reproduced with incredible attention to detail. As a self taught artist, Ken Messom has developed a style of art which is so intricate that his paintings appear more lifelike than photographs.
After creating an under painting in ink, Ken applies a colour ink-wash; then using ink and gouache, he starts the meticulous and painstaking process of building the face of the animal. The depth of expression he manages to create particularly with the eyes - results in a mesmerising effect and his finished artwork has an intense reality which almost defies logic.
